Having hard time choosing a tactical vest? Can’t decide between the two?
I know you can buy cheaper Vest out there, but those vest are usually “fixed made”. Meaning you have to settle for what the manufacture offers you or you have to follow the Paintball popularity crowd. By the way, United States Marine Corps use tactical body armor that we most commonly call Tactical Vest. Technically if you look at it I’m just carrying a basic “COMBAT LOAD” of paintball magazines compared to Military which is six 30 round clips. Tactical vests have features, like quick access to your Binoculars, Night Vision, or Military Products and Tactical Gear in extreme conditions. I bought what I wanted and set my vest up the way I wanted. I care less if I’m set up like a heavy gunner, sapper or whatever else name people brand themselves with.
It really exceeds the price I paid for it. The zipper is plastic, just like on my other vest and those that are sold elsewhere. It’s sturdy. Have two front clips. The MOLLE webbing was sewn in very well. Everything is MOLLE. I like MOLLE, but it might not be everyone’s flavor. However I used it for my guide; reason being if I’m not happy with the set up I can change it around per my playing style. Weaving in the gear was not a problem. Spacing for the straps was perfect. Some Tactical Vests also have Velcro patches on each breast side. I imagine those are for “Blood type patches or unit patches or other military items of interest” Maybe it helps certain gear attach better. Either way it’s for attachment. I adjust Tactical Vest on the sides. I’m a ROUND PERSON, so it does helps a lot. I adjust them all the way out. The shoulder straps are adjustable. This will let you make the vest drop lower or pull it up a little more. I like this feature, helps to cover my “ROUNDNESS”.
What about sides? I imagine if I was actually into scenario games the inside would be very helpful. It has to zip up pockets on each side on the vest. It would be good for storing maps, orders, secret agent stuff etc. I do the following to free up the back of the vest for spare gear, pods or a pack. The back netting can be used to put in a hydration bag and then put on the vest. I would sew down the mesh just to form a nice pocket so the hydration bag is limited in its movement.
Do I feel that this will work for me? Yes I do! I know I got my Monies worth. Like I said, I need a vest to travel with and play tactical games, so this is my choice. I hope whatever everyone else buys will fit their needs and budget. So let me know what you think.
PS.
I have to advice people who are small though, because there is a limit to how small you can adjust the vest. I am 5’8 and I can barely make it work for me. So have fun with this cool vest!
Overall, Tactical vests are great vest for air soft players. I’m in the military and I hate pistol leg holsters so I wanted something handier for long air soft outings in 90+ degree temperatures. I bought the vest that had pouches for all the mags I can hold plus some. It even had an extra pouch that holds 2 m16 mags. The only down side is that it is a Velcro system so it is very LOUD!!!
The best tactical vests, for the price and the materials are made!
